Staff nurse critical care unit/intensive care unit

Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust

RUH Bath,

Number Of Vacancies: 3

This is a fantastic time join our enthusiastic and motivated intensive care team. We welcome newly qualified nurses who previously have had an acute nursing placement or intensive care.

Our Band 5 pathway includes:

  • A 6 week supernumerary period (including induction)
  • Progression through the nationally recognised ‘Critical Care Steps’ Competency Framework
  • A comprehensive education package including the Foundations in Critical Care Course.

Choosing a career in Critical Care nursing will open many doors for you. We will invest in your future development and this could lead you into exciting roles within Critical Care such as a Sister/ Charge Nurse, Senior Sister/Charge Nurse, Matron, Education Practice Facilitator or Advanced Critical Care Practioner.

Our Intensive Care team provides a great service across two units. The units are dedicated in providing care for seriously ill patients from across a range of medical and surgical specialties. Having two Intensive Care Units means we can separate the care we offer to our patients. The new 14 bed Intensive Care Unit is contained in a negative pressure environment, having sealed areas with carefully controlled ventilation that prevents contaminated air from escaping the room which maximises safety for staff and patients.

In ITU, the team is everything and our staff look after so many different types of patients. We have made a short film about why working in Critical Care is so rewarding and why our staff love doing what they do - caring for our most vulnerable patients. If you choose to join us at the Royal United Hospitals Bath, you will become part of a talented, passionate team of people, committed to providing the best care and treatment to our patients.
