We are looking for an enthusiastic nurse to come and join the Rheumatology nursing team at the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases, a centre of excellence within the Royal United Hospital, in the beautiful city of Bath.
This is a specialist nurse developmental post and will consider appointing a band 5 staff nurse if they perform well at interview. Once you are in post and have gained the relevant experience you will be encouraged to start working towards an MSc. The first stage of MSc would be the Non Medical Prescribing Course and upon completion of this the postholder will progress to Band 7.
If you have already completed a prescribing qualification and have the necessary clinical experience we would appoint you into this post at Band 7.
The Specialist Nursing Service manages patients with a wide range of rheumatological conditions. The team consists of eight nurses, two administrators, and we work alongside 10 consultant rheumatologists and the therapies team within the Rheumatology day unit and outpatients department.
This post will provide evidence based care and associate specialist nursing support to rheumatology patients working closely and under the supervision of the Band 7 Rheumatology Specialist Nurses.
This role is an ideal opportunity for a Band 5 or 6 nurse to work in this exciting field. You will have the support of the multi-disciplinary team and a developmental plan will be tailored to your needs, this will include running your own nurse-led clinics, and studying towards a Masters degree and becoming a non-medical prescriber.
We are looking for an individual who is a good team player, a skilled communicator, and has a willingness to learn and develop their professional skills. You do not necessarily need rheumatology experience but ideally will already have a first degree and nursing experience.
We are committed to supporting you and hope you want to join our team. Applications need to be made by 23 October 2022.
